City, coast, countryside, and history, culture, sports – as a region, Yorkshire really does offer something for everyone. It’s also home to two national parks, which provide ample opportunities for exploration. And, when you’re not in the great outdoors, you’re sure to be impressed with the range of luxury lodges we have – some of which are in the heart of the action and others just a short drive from the hustle and bustle.

From the incredible beachside resort of Colwyn Bay in North Wales to Newport in South Wales, if you’re looking for awe-inspiring scenery, Wales won’t disappoint. Here, you’ll find coastline, national parks, quaint villages and a few lively cities – each packed with their own character and charm. Wales comes alive at nighttime with a renowned culture taking over, and making everyone feel welcome. Of course, a day spent in Snowdonia National Park also needs to be on your bucket list.

Cornwall

Who needs long-haul flights and airport stresses when you’ve got some of the most beautiful beaches right here in the UK? Home to the likes of Falmouth, Fowey, Newquay and Penzance, it’s no surprise visitors flock to Cornwall every season – and the south coast has even been dubbed the Cornish Riviera. Choose from lazy days on the beach, fast-paced water sports, long lunches in award-winning restaurants and gentle wanders through the countryside.

The Cotswolds

Best for: Fairytale vibes

The accommodation in the Cotswolds is often described as chocolate box and it’s not hard to see why. In fact, many of the streets look like they should be out of a film and the area has inspired authors, poets and artists for many years. Once here, you can mix up your days in cute villages and towns, take in the views lakeside and saunter into the rolling countryside before stopping at one of the award-winning pubs to refuel.

Scotland

Best for: Experiencing the culinary scene

Of course, Scotland offers a whole range of things to do – thanks to beautiful cities, incredible countryside and magnificent coastline. But one of our favourite things about the area is the food and drink! From whisky tours and gin distillery experiences to haggis and lobster, there really is something for every taste. Book a table at an award-winning restaurant or head to one of the renowned food markets and set up a spread in your lodge’s dining area that evening. Pure bliss.

Best activities for local hot tub breaks

A champagne picnic

One of our favourite things about a lodge holiday is the fact that it’s a great opportunity to see some of the UK’s best landscapes. So, why not make the most of it with a picnic? Of course, a champagne picnic for something truly special. Take a few games, don’t forget the picnic blanket and you could even pop to one of the local artisan delis for a feast fit for a king.

A walk in the countryside

Another great way to get all of the group together is with a walk in the countryside. What’s more, if you’ve got your dog, there’s lots of dog-friendly nature trails and adventures dotted around. Many are even suitable for wheelchairs and prams so everyone can enjoy a day out. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for somewhere to stop off at on the way back though.

Stargazing and cocktails

Just picture it now: you’ve had a great day in your location of choice, the air is still warm from the earlier sunshine and there’s not another soul in sight – apart from those you’re travelling with. The kids are in bed, and the dogs are cosy in the basket. It’s time to mix up some cocktails, get into the tub and sit back and take in the views of the land. Sold yet?!

A relaxing spa day

Now, you could stay in your hot tub lodge all day or you could venture out to one of the nearby luxury spas. Failing that, why not get a remote beauty service to come to you? Or create your very own DIY treatments. After all, sitting in the hot tub with a homemade face and hair mask on sounds very appealing to us. All you need is a glass of fizz to make it a proper relaxing moment.

Dinner on the open fire

Many of our lodges with hot tubs come with a fire pit, BBQ, or even a pizza oven. From a BBQ’ed Full English (don’t knock it) to toasted marshmallows at midnight, you certainly won’t go hungry – and, if you think about it, you can get quite creative when it comes to fire pit dinners. There’s something special about cooking and eating outside – and much less washing up when everything’s in foil trays too!
